Get ready to swing into summer at the Let’s Teach Summer Swing
Pickleball Tournament & Fundraiser, happening Sunday, August 9 at LA City College!

This event is an exciting opportunity to discover our Let’s Teach pickleball location, meet players from across the community, and enjoy a fun day of competition. The tournament will feature Men’s and Women’s Doubles divisions for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced players, with age groups for 12+ and 40+.

Whether you are new to the game or ready to test your skills, Summer Swing is the perfect chance to play and help us grow the pickleball community at LA City College and nearby areas.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to Let’s Teach, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to racquet sports to the youth in Southern California. Learn more at lets-teach.org

FINAL PLAYING SCHEDULE ALL Divisions will begin play at 2:30pm
Sunday, August 9

2:30pm
– Men’s Doubles Intermediate
– Men’s Doubles Beginner (12+, 40+) Combined
– Women’s Doubles Intermediate

Levels:
Beginner: Combined DUPR of 6.5 (nether player greater than 3.5)
Intermediate: Combined DUPR of 7.5 (nether player greater than 4.0)
Advanced (Men’s Only): Minimum combined DUPR 7.5

PLAY COURTS:
Upto 22 courts: 8 Dual-use courts, additional temporary lined courts

FORMAT:
Continuous Round Robin play with guaranteed minimum of 5 games. Depending on bracket size, full tournament play can range between 5-10 games (additional games if divisions have playoff rounds).

OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT BALL/RULES:
Franklin X-40 
USAP 2026 Pickleball Rules will govern play, however, this is not a USAP sanctioned event.
iPickle retains right to make exceptions to USAP rules in its sole discretion to ensure fun and fair competition for all (eg. we might award two teams the same medal in the event we have made an administrative error in tabulating results).

ONLY USAP approved paddles allowed.
Please note:  all players are required to ensure their paddles are USA Pickleball approved. Players found to be using delisted or unapproved paddles will be required to change paddles and risk forfeiting games played. Tournament staff reserve the right to disallow paddles that are brought to their attention by players that are visibly damaged, delaminated or treated in a way that may affect their original paddle approval. 
Pro Open division players risk forfeiting prize money and medals if an infraction has occurred but not brought to our attention
until after play has completed (subject to Tournament Director discretion).

ENTRY FEES
$60 Entry Fee (per player)
10% discount for iPickle facility members
10% Early Bird discount until July 27
Final Registration Deadline is Monday, August 3 at 11:59PM 

**Space is not guaranteed for players once registration is closed.**
**Late Registration Fee of $15 will be in place for unpaid partners that are listed on the roster sheet and are registering after the deadline. Please email summerswing@ipickle.com to complete your registration.

REFUNDS:
Full refunds are eligible until August 6. Credit towards a future tournament will be issued for requests after August 6 and until the start of the first day of the event. No credit or refund eligible for no-shows.

DUPR:
Scores will be posted to DUPR with the exception of combined age matches played against players of a different age group.  Players should register for a free DUPR account if they have not done so already at MyDupr.com. You will also need to join the iPickle DUPR Club, which can be found at this link. 

If a player registers for a division that their DUPR rating does not qualify for, they will be automatically moved to the appropriate division based on their rating. DUPR ratings will be verified and set at the time of registration. We will not be changing DUPRs after registration whether your DUPR goes up or down. 

***We will continue to award separate medals for combined age divisions. However, only matches played within a player’s designated age division will be submitted to DUPR, while all matches will be counted for medal placement.  Any changes to divisions (level or age group) must be made before the day of the tournament to allow our team to adjust the rosters and scoresheets accordingly. ***

We recommend if your age group has been combined with another age group and you want more games to be reported to DUPR, email us for a request to change to the group with more teams. We cannot change your division on the day of the tournament or after the competition has been completed.

AWARDS:
Signature iPickle Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers. 
Note: This is NOT a Slam event, but medals earned may increase your chances of winning the iPickle Golden Ticket Contest.
